Statistics on Physics Research Groups in Austria

This page lists the groups participating in the survey of physics research groups in Austria initiated by the OePG according to the following criteria:

  • Location
  • Institution
  • Research area
  • Field of work (according to the Austrian System of Science Areas)

We have refrained from a quantitative analysis of the results reported by the various groups although that would have been technically possible: The intention of the OePG was a presentation of the groups working on physics research in Austria and their results in a standardized format, not a ranking of any kind. This page illustrates the structure of the Austrian physics research activities, and it may be helpful in finding potential partners for cooperations in certain areas.

The initially displayed complete list of all research groups in the area of physics may be focused by a restriction to a certain research area, a field of work (according to the Austrian System of Science Areas), an institution (e.g., a university), or by a search for particular contents. The lines of the statistics table are links that display a list of the pertinent groups and their heads whose entries, in turn, are links that lead to pages with detailled information on each group.

Please note the following facts:

  • Since assignments to research areas or fields of work are optional, and due to multiple assignments, the sum of shares usually deviates from 100%.
  • Upon restriction to a research area or field of work, those research areas and / or fields of work are also shown that have additionally been assigned to the selected entries.
