Registration of the Membership of a Physical Person

Thank you for your intention to join the Austrian Physical Society! Please fill in the form below, in particular, the compulsory fields marked with "(*)". Upon clicking the button "Save data", you will receive an automatically generated mail with a summary of your membership data; you will receive a notification within the next days when your membership has become active.

Important note on privacy: We have to collect from you personal data such as your name, date or alternatively year of birth, mailing and alternative addresses, mail address and phone number. We need this information to be able to contact you and administer your membership. The chairs of the divisions and working groups of the OePG may possibly receive the data absolutely necessary for contacting the members of their division or working group; however, they have to treat them confidentially and delete them when they terminate their period as chair of the division or working group. If you have requested to receive information from the OePG in paper form we have to pass on in electronic form your data, at least your name and address, possibly also other information pertaining to your membership, as part of the contents of the mailings to a print shop that creates the letters. This data transfer is done in encrypted form. The print shop warrants in its Terms of Service to use the data solely for the creation of the printouts, to handle them confidentially, and to delete them when the print order is completed. For members who have subscribed to the "Physik Journal", we have to forward some of this data - solely name and delivery address - to the printing company that ships the journal to the subscribers, and we have occasionally to pass the required subset of data of members who claim memberships with the "friendly"German and Swiss Physical societies to the administrations of these societies to match memberships. Apart from that, we give your data under no circumstances to anybody else. We have to keep your membership data for the full duration of your membership. We delete or obfuscate all information that allows the identification of an individual person within three months after the termination of a membership. This period is extended to the legal limitation period of three years if membership fees are open at the end of a membership.

We process your data according to the guidelines of the EU Regulation 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and the current version of the Austrian Data Protection Law ("DSG"). Within the legal and technical possibilities, we grant all rights defined in the Regulation, in particular, viewing rights, right of access by the data subject, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to restriction of processing, right to object and right to data portability. We use suitable technical means to protect your data against access by unauthorized persons. You can find detailed information in the Data Protection Declaration of the Austrian Physical Society.
