Exciting findings in historic supernova
Exciting findings in historic supernova

An international team of researchers, including researchers from the Space Research Institute in Graz, have published a study in "Nature Astronomy" about the discovery of a star that has been strongly contaminated with calcium during the supernova explosion of its partner. It is the first time that such a double-star system could be found in the remains of a supernova by superposition of observations with terrestric and space telescopes.
