Awards for Special Achievements of Students at Higher Schools  (Created: 2012-09-24)

On September 19, 2012, the following students at Austrian higher schools have received awards at the Annual Meeting of the OePG in Graz:

Excellent theses in the area of physics:

1st place: Stefan Mazuheli (BG/BRG Knittelfeld): Die Teslaspule in Theorie und Experimenten

2nd place: Nadine Schmalzer (BR/BRG Enns): Materiewelleninterferometrie, and Thomas Kamencek (Neues Gymnasium Leoben): Halbleiter und Charakterisierung von Halbleiternanostrukturen

Industry Prize: Thomas Mülleder (BRG Kepler, Graz): Nanobeschichtungen. Nanotechnologie in Theorie und Praxis (Award: One month of paid scholarship at the Hans Höllwart Forschungszentrum für Integrales Bauwesen)

Austrian Team at the 43nd International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Tallin:

Oliver Edtmaier (BG Villach) Silver medal

Tobias Karg (BRG Villach): Bronze medal

Maximilian Ruep (BRG Wels): Bronze medal

Martin Stadler (BRG Graz-Keplerstraße): Bronze medal

Cristoph Weis (BRG Graz-Carneri): Bronze medal

Austrian Team at the 24th International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT) in Bad Saulgau, Germany - 8th place (among 28 participants):
