Chury is Cold and Hard like Ice

For the first time, the mechanical properties of the surface of a comet could be investigated. This was made possible, among others, by the MUPUS measuring system in whose development the Space Research Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences has participated.

The image shows the Rosetta lander Philae on the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. One of the three legs of the lander can be seen in the foreground. The image has been composed from two photos.
