Wolfgang E. Ernst elected as a Fellow of the EPS
The current president of the Austrian Physical Society, Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Ernst, has been elected as a Fellow of the EPS at the EPS Council Meeting in Strasbourg, France. He is the first Austrian to receive this honour. The long citation for his fellowship is:
For his world-recognized scientific contributions in high-resolution molecular spectroscopy, his advances in the optical spectroscopy of atomic and molecular species in quantum droplets, and for his outstandig service in the scientific physics community.
Currently there are 72 Fellows among the about 3500 individual members of the EPS, which amounts to approximately 2 %.
